Ordinary Japan: Old Style

Most foreign people visit Kyoto to see the old (Edo era or older) Japan.

However, even in Tokyo or suburb of Tokyo, you can see lots of very nice scene of old style Japan.

Within this page, I will show you the ordinary scene of Japan.

Gates

Old style of gate (Mon – “門” in Kanji)  is very popular in a small town with some  history. Some of them are very beautiful and it’s easy to find them in such a a town.

Roofs

Old style of roof (Yane – “屋根” in Kanji)  is also beautiful and curious even for Japanese people.
